Tonight Todd Howard took the stage at the Bethesda E3 briefing to show off Fallout 4; which has been in various stages of development since 2009. You start the game before the war in Boston, and it takes the part of the character select process. During the demo the main character meets up with the dog from the first trailer. You can use contextual commands to send your trusty companion wherever.

The Pip Boy has been updated for this new adventure. Not only can you read files, manage your status or supplies, but listen to music and play games like the Red Menace. But this wasn’t it for the reliable Pip Boy, Bethesda has built a real one and you can own it with the Fallout 4 Collectors Edition. You can install your phone in the Pip Boy and will also come with it’s own App.

Also announced was another iOS app, Fallout Shelter. Fallout Shelter puts you in the shoes of a vault overseer, and you as the player take control of the vault. Fallout Shelter is available tonight after Bethesda media briefing in the Apple App Store.

Back to Fallout 4, Todd Howard announced that Fallout 4 will have a crafting component to the game. Not only will you be able to take items from the world and craft and modify new weapons, Power Armor, and even parts of the whole world. If you want to tackle this task, you will be able to take certain structures or parts of an area and rebuild them, and after a time, people will visit and rare vendors will set up shop in your area. This is certainly one of the biggest welcomed surprises of the game.

The last piece of news was the release date. Fallout 4 will be released November 10, 2015. It will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
