E3 2015: Guerrilla Cambridge’s Next Game is RIGS for Project Morpheus

For a product that’s scheduled for release within the next twelve month, Sony sure didn’t spend much time talking about Project Morpheus at their E3 press conference. We did, however, get a first look at one of the many first party titles coming to the virtual reality platform that PlayStation believes will be the premier destination for multiplayer VR experiences.

The game is RIGS: Mechanized Combat League (MCL), a 3v3 mech combat gaming coming from the studio that brought us Killzone Mercenary, Guerrilla Cambridge. RIGS seems to take the obvious route for VR action, putting the player in the cockpit of a vehicle, in this case a mech, that does all of the actual moving and aiming, allowing the player to freely look around from within in a completely natural feeling way.

All we have of the game so far is a trailer, but since it’s VR, we’ll primarily have to rely on our ground team to get impressions of this one from the show floor, hopefully in the coming days.

A student of games, I play a bit of everything because I like to see what’s out there. Nothing better than first hand experience when it comes to knowing about games. Current game obsession: Anything MOBA (Paragon, Battleborn, Heroes of the Storm), except, ironically, the most popular ones, LoL and DOTA2.
