More information is coming about the long-awaited western release of Yakuza 5. In this first interview of a three part series explains more about the thought process of the game creators. Gio Corsi sits down with Toshihiro Nagoshi, General Director of the Yakuza Series and the Yakuza 5 Producer, Masayoshi Yokoyama, to ask them fan-submitted questions via Twitter.

While not a lot of information pertaining to the western release was given in this interview, Nagoshi-san and Yokoyama-san explain how the story in Yakuza 5 revolves around the protagonists pursuing their dreams. Also, they pointed out that you can play five characters in this game as well as play a female protagonist for the first time in the Yakuza Series.

From looking at the brief video clips, the minigames and graphics look significantly improved—especially the batting cage minigame controls. I’m hoping that in the next two installments that they talk about what cuts, if any, will be made to the game. Cut content was a sore spot for Yakuza fans for Yakuza 3, but thankfully Yakuza 4 and Yakuza: Dead Souls did not have these cuts.

As many of you know, I’m PS Nation’s resident Yakuza fan, and Yakuza 5 is my most-anticipated title for 2015. I’m so excited to finally get some information about the western release.
