Ubisoft Presents The Siege Games Competitive Tour

If you missed the boat to get signed up for the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege closed beta, Ubisoft and Extra Life are offering up some new chances to play the game before its October 13th release. Starting today, anyone who donates $6 or more to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through any Extra Life participant will receive a code for guaranteed access to the R6 Siege closed beta. If you, somehow, don’t know any Extra Life participants, they’ve also set up a promotion specific page to donate through at extra-life.org/rainbowsix. Beta codes will be available this way through mid July.

“At Extra Life, our motto is ‘play games, heal kids.’ Giving back to the kids who need it most should be fun, and what’s more fun than playing games?” said Michael Kinney, Team Extra Life. “We’re thrilled to combine the passion of Rainbow Six fans and the Extra Life community to create an astronomical force for good to help sick and injured kids everywhere.”

A second opportunity to play Rainbow Six Siege pre-release comes in the form of The Siege Games, a competitive tour that will be showing up at major US gaming events during this summer’s convention season. Players will be competing for highest scores against AI opposition and a trip for two (round trip tickets, two-night hotel) to Los Angeles to attend a “star-studded Siege Day launch event, live streamed to the world,” on October 8th.

The events schedule:

  • July 9–12: Comic-Con International: San Diego Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter, Santa Rosa Room
  • August 7–9: RTX (Austin)
  • August 28–31: PAX Prime (Seattle)
  • September 2: GameStop EXPO 2015 (Las Vegas)

One team of five will be crowned winner at each of the events where Local Extra Life Guilds will also be around to help people register for Extra Life 2015.

Can’t make it to the conventions above? Ten winners, two teams of five, will also be chosen from the closed beta which starts September 24th. Those guaranteed beta access codes for donating are a win for everybody. For more information and to sign up for the closed beta waiting list and The Siege Games, head on over to the The Siege Games website.

A student of games, I play a bit of everything because I like to see what’s out there. Nothing better than first hand experience when it comes to knowing about games. Current game obsession: Anything MOBA (Paragon, Battleborn, Heroes of the Storm), except, ironically, the most popular ones, LoL and DOTA2.
