Zombi Resurrects on PS4, XBOX One and PC This Summer

In much the same way when people die and come back as zombies, but they’re not all there anymore yet in some ways they’re more than they were, ZombiU is coming back, sans the “U,” as Zombi, an enhanced for next-gen systems version of the WiiU launch game that came out back in 2012.

There’s not a whole lot of info on how this version will play other than the bug-out bag and permadeath are returning, meaning that if your character dies, your next incarnation needs to find the corpse of your previous self to get back all of your gear. Zombi also retains the first person perspective of the original and still takes place in London. It will be interesting to see how the things that were previously enabled by the WiiU Gamepad will be handled on hardware that lacks a native second screen. Here’s hoping there’ll be more information at Gamescom next week.

Even if there isn’t though, there won’t be too long to wait as Ubisoft has scheduled the game for release in just a few short weeks on August 18th.

Zombi will be released digitally on PlayStation Store, XBOX One and PC and was developed by Straight Right, a Melbourne based developer who’s most recent work includes the WiiU ports of Deus Ex Human Revolution: Director’s Cut and Mass Effect 3. Check out the announcement trailer below.

A student of games, I play a bit of everything because I like to see what’s out there. Nothing better than first hand experience when it comes to knowing about games. Current game obsession: Anything MOBA (Paragon, Battleborn, Heroes of the Storm), except, ironically, the most popular ones, LoL and DOTA2.
