TGS 2015: Yakuza: Kiwami and Yakuza 6 Announced
Yakuza fans will have two new games to wish for in the series. Nagoshi-san from Sega took the stage at Sony’s press conference to announce two new titles in the Ryu Ga Gotoku (Yakuza) franchise.
The first one, which is a special project to mark the tenth anniversary of the Yakuza franchise, is a completely rebuilt version of the very first game, titled Ryu Ga Gotoku: Kiwami. Nagoshi-san mentioned that he and the development team were unsatisfied with the first game, in that there was much more they wanted to do but couldn’t, due to the technical limitations of the time. So, this new game is going to be a completely rebuilt game to include a lot of the ideas that had to be left out the first time.
The game itself looked beautiful, and is targeted to be released in Japan on January 21st, 2016 for both PS3 and PS4.
Also, after announcing Yakuza: Kiwami, Nagoshi-san also announced that Yakuza 6 is also in development, releasing in 2016 and will be a PS4 exclusive.
