Welcome to Last Week on #DailyPoll! Every weekday we post a video game related poll to our twitter account, @PSNation, to see what our followers think about some subject. Then at the end of each week, we’ll compile those results into this post for all the readers! Let’s see what you all had to say last week.

Monday
Being the first Daily Poll of 2016, of course we had to take a moment to look back and reflect on 2015. To that end, the poll was asking what our followers thought of 2015 in regards to gaming.

Looks like the majority of those polled enjoyed 2015. With all the games that were critically acclaimed: The Witcher 3, Bloodborne, Fallout 4, etc, it’s hard not to see why. Not that everyone thought that though.

Tuesday
To follow that up, of course the next day’s poll had to address 2016. Specifically we asked to see what our followers predicted for 2016; whether they thought it would be a good year for games.

When I posted this, I expected it to be pretty similar to the 2015 poll but surprisingly our followers have a lot more hope for 2016. Apparently we have a lot of glass-half-full followers! But then, some of the upcoming games for 2016 are pretty hype, as Jimmy Rowe points out.

Wednesday
News of the Oculus Rift‘s price dropped early that morning, seemingly along with the jaw of many gamers. At $599, the Oculus is far from cheap, even if it does have two games and a controller packed in with it. Of course we had to ask a daily poll about it.

The internet at large was vocal about the cost and our poll seemed to follow that sentiment. A whooping 93% think the price tag is too high with a vast majority of those people thinking it’s “way too high.” People seem excited for VR but for many people like Tony Allen, cost is still a factor.

Thursday
As a bit of a follow up to Wednesday, we asked on Thursday about the PS4’s camera. The cost of PSVR, Sony’s answer to Oculus, could be affected by whether or not Sony decides they need to include the camera so the question asked how many of our followers have the PS4‘s camera.

Based on earlier polls, it seems that we have a lot of early adopters; many of our followers bought a PS4 in the first year it was available for example. So it’s not too surprising that ‘yes’ won out. However it was a pretty close poll with a nearly 50-50 split among those who do have a PS4. The camera does have uses outside PSVR of course, which is why people like MakaiOokami picked one up.

Friday
And finally, Friday, where we asked one more VR related question. This was a simple one: if you had PSVR, would you want it be able to use it to watch 3D movies? We asked Shuhei about this during our interview at PSX so let’s see what you all want.

Pretty big victory for yes. The poll was trending around 80-20 almost the whole day and of course ended up there as well. As Imphobia put it, “why not?” More functionality is never really a bad thing. But not every one agreed with that; some people like Nicole Templeton just want 3D to go away.

That’s it for this week, but be sure to follow @PSNation on twitter where we’ll have more Daily Polls to vote in! And check back on the website next week to see the results of those polls.

Would it be possible to add your daily poll to the site (maybe on the sidebar if you don’t want to put it out as a main post)? I don’t twitter, Facebook or any of that stuff.

Either way, I really enjoy the site. Thanks!

That would be something Josh would need to look into. I’ll pass your comment on.

    • That should be a forum post. Easiest way to do it and keep it all in one place.
