The Revolution is Everywhere Starting May 17th

Publisher Deep Silver and developer Dambusters Studios have let the word out; Homefront: The Revolution will be out in NA on May 17th with a release in other territories shortly after on May 20th. It will be the second game in the Homefront franchise but will not be a narrative continuation of the original. Check out a new trailer below.

As you can see, the setting is a bit different than where the original Homefront left off. Cities of this near future distopia are divided into three zones: the Red Zones are uninhabited, war ravaged wastelands, the Green Zones are highly militarized KPA command centers(so the color codes are from their perspective), and the Yellow Zones are where the civilian population lives, densely packed and under ever present KPA military, surveillance, and propaganda fueled oppression.

Given these settings, you can image the different types of gameplay experiences Dambusters has in store for players. From guerrilla warfare across bombed out suburbs, sabotaging cameras and boradcasters in the slums, to all out fire fights against overwhelming odds around Philadelphia’s most famous landmarks, Homefront: The Revolution could have a little something for all the first person tastes.

Sign-ups are open now for a closed beta, though unfortunately, the beta is exclusive to Xbox One. Still, PlayStation fans will likely get to hear about Homefront: The Revolution’s online 4 player co-op mode soon, as presumably that’s what the beta will be for.

We’ll let you know.

A student of games, I play a bit of everything because I like to see what’s out there. Nothing better than first hand experience when it comes to knowing about games. Current game obsession: Anything MOBA (Paragon, Battleborn, Heroes of the Storm), except, ironically, the most popular ones, LoL and DOTA2.
