What happens when mobile games come to console we care about? Are they better for it, now worthy of our attention?

We answer that question more and more these days and February 23rd, Hitman GO: Definitive Edition will join the roster as it releases on PlayStation 4, PS Vita, and Steam for $7.99 (February 24th in European territories).

Critically acclaimed on mobile, Hitman GO is a turn-based strategy/puzzle game that takes place on diorama-styled sets inspired by locale from the Hitman universe. Players are tasked with strategically navigating fixed spaces on a grid in order to avoid guards, take out targets, and infiltrate restricted areas. Having played it on my Android, this seemingly simplistic setup captures elements of the Hitman experience quite well.

For this definitive release, mobile game staples like in-app purchases have all been removed. Game content added in subsequent content updates (Opera, Airport and St. Petersburg boxes) is all included. Hitman GO’s graphics have been improved for the big screen and controller support has been added, although on PlayStation, players will still be able to use the PS4 touchpad or the Vita’s front touchscreen, for pureness sake, if desired. Also on PlayStation the game will be Cross-Buy, support Cross-Save, and feature a Platinum trophy.

We are very excited to be bringing Hitman GO to even more players with this revisited edition. We hope the challenging turn-based gameplay will please even the most dedicated Hitman fans.
– Patrick Naud, Head of Studio for Square Enix Montreal

Who else is excited? Did anyone beat the mobile versions, and what about all these mobile games making their ways to PlayStation? Brag on in the comments.

A student of games, I play a bit of everything because I like to see what’s out there. Nothing better than first hand experience when it comes to knowing about games. Current game obsession: Anything MOBA (Paragon, Battleborn, Heroes of the Storm), except, ironically, the most popular ones, LoL and DOTA2.
