The Next Battlefield Game Will Be Battlefield 1

Battlefield1

EA and DICE have revealed the future of the Battlefield franchise and that future involves going back in time. The next game in the franchise is Battlefield 1 and it will take place during World War 1. Check out the debut trailer that premiered during a livestream hosted by EA and DICE.

Here is a quick rundown on what to expect from Battlefield 1 straight from the press release:

“Battlefield 1 takes you across multiple and varied locations in a bid to fight your way through immersive battles. From tight urban fights in a besieged French city, to big open spaces in the Italian Alps and frantic combats in the deserts of Arabia, discover a world at war through an adventure-filled campaign.

In a true multiplayer sandbox experience, take to the skies and engage in high-octane dogfights through treacherous landscapes, or have a battleship obliterating the coast from the sea, and engage in some of the biggest battles ever seen as empires clash for supremacy.

“The game will deliver a fresh experience full of what makes Battlefield great, with a multiplayer sandbox, immersion, epic scale, authenticity, team play and an ever-changing world full of unexpected Battlefield moments,“ said Aleksander Grøndal, Senior Producer, DICE. “We’re inviting players on an epic journey across a war-torn world, taking them to the Great War and providing something both varied and unique in Battlefield 1.”

Set against the backdrop of World War 1, witness the birth of modern warfare, as the Great War saw a furious arms race with new machines and weapons created to get the upper hand during the most technologically divergent war of all time. Feel the intensity and immersion as Battlefield 1 takes advantage of this modern arsenal to deliver the experience fans love, but with a fresh and modern twist.”

Just a nerd from the Windy City. I’m actually really bad at describing myself because I get all self-critical and self-conscious. Very disappointed in another old worn-out WW1 shooter! Nothing here looks like it will be fun to play more than a week or two… and that’s stretching it. This looks like a total bomb for Clans. Just not enough substance to hold on too, to be fun to play for the long haul. BF1 is a ridiculous name for the new BF.

The only thing that might save this game is a total remade Clan Support system, at least similar to what BF3 had but much better with more support for scoring, a good “working” communications system that works for Squads with “Push to talk”, Private Clan wars and matches and latter matches. And… a strong support for a Rented Private Server System, that is totally room set up by a server user Admin for private Clan matches, tournaments and Clan wars. Nothing less is acceptable. Did they even have radio communications in WW1?? And “horses”?? Just LMAO!! I’ll by Red Dead Redemption2 for horsing around!! At least I know Rockstar will get that right!

DICE couldn’t get BF4 right for a good modern day war shooter… so now DICE pukes up this old furball standby WW1 game. A pathetic waste of coding and game programmer time. Totally Laughable!

I don’t see this game being supported by a larger gamer community for more than 6 months at best. Without Clan Support… won’t by it. I’ll find something else that’s worth $60 with all the extra costs that will be hanged on by EA.

Even BF Hardline looks better than this turd! Thank God BF3 is still working!!

      Heh.

Though, to be fair, there really haven’t been very many WWI games. I can only think of one off the top of my head and I don’t even remember the title of that one. Just that reloading was very slow.
