How does Sony top their E3 presentation from last year? I don’t know, but Square Enix announcing the release date of one of the games that debuted at the time certainly helps.

World of Final Fantasy is coming out on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita on October 25th worldwide.

As twins, Reynn and Lann, World of Final Fantasy has players journeying through the world of Grymoire on a quest for lost memories with lots of beloved Final Fantasy characters and monsters making appearances along the way, though in a new toy-like coat of paint. The visual style is meant to welcome in fans and newcomers to the franchise alike.

It’s cute. A new English language trailer lets us in on a little bit of the story just one week prior to E3, where we’re sure to learn more.

Gameplay-wise, World of Final Fantasy combines classic RPG mechanics with capturing and raising “adorably familiar beasts as cactuar, chocobo┬« and behemoth to discover alternate forms and learn new abilities.”

Also announced, fans who preorder the day one edition of World of Final Fantasy will receive Sephiroth as a summon to aid them in battle.

Finally, some screenshots. Did I mention the game is cute?

World of Final Fantasy was announced at last year’s E3 as a timed PlayStation exclusive, along with the Final Fantasy VII remake. Maybe we’ll get a release date and a gameplay demo of that one? That would certainly help too.

A student of games, I play a bit of everything because I like to see what’s out there. Nothing better than first hand experience when it comes to knowing about games. Current game obsession: Anything MOBA (Paragon, Battleborn, Heroes of the Storm), except, ironically, the most popular ones, LoL and DOTA2.
