Last Week on #DailyPoll – 11/25/16

Last week, for those in the United States, was Thanksgiving. It is a day where we Americans stuff ourselves with turkey and cranberry sauce in remembrance of all the horrible things the nation’s founders did. But it’s also a holiday often spent with family, so last week’s polls were about family. Note, because of my family, I forgot to post a poll on Thursday or Friday. Oops.

Monday
I assume most of you who would be visiting PS Nation are gamers, and play games pretty regularly. But that may not be true for the rest of your family. So I asked how often you play games with the rest of your family.

Seems that it’s slightly more likely that our readers don’t often play with family. There’s still a pretty decent spread in the poll with a few who frequently or regularly play with their family but more of a skew towards the low end. Most of the twitter replies came from people who do play with family though.

Tuesday
This poll maybe should have come first, but Tuesday’s poll asks if your family members actually play games. In my case, my brother plays a lot of games but we rarely play together because we enjoy different genres and generally play on different platforms. I wonder if I can get him into Rocket League….

Interestingly, it seems that most replies come from people who do have family members who play video games. So I guess my situation isn’t too unique if the folks fit into both majorities for the polls: have family who play video games, but don’t often play with them.

Wednesday
Not typically our cup’o’tea, but on Wednesday I thought I’d ask Monday’s question again but about card games or board games. I know personally, my family often played cards when I was growing up. Hearts and rummy were favorites, and we’d occasionally sit down for a board game too.

I was rather surprised by much different this poll was from the one on Monday. I was almost expecting it to be more likely than video games but it seems much more rare. There are a few possible reasons such as cards becoming less popular overall. Or, as George Nash points out, the fact that you have to sit down in the same room to play them.

That’s all for last week. This week’s polls are going to be about a little franchise called Final Fantasy.
