The Walking Dead: Michonne – A Telltale Miniseries – 10%

Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- – 3%

As one of the last real high profile releases on the PS3 and likely the final Golden Minecart award winner on the platform, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir ran away with the vote. Attack on Titan and Tales from the Borderlands both jumped into a tie in the five spot as write-ins.

Thumper – 48%
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood – 22%
EVE: Valkyrie – 9%
Battlezone – 8%
Rez Infinite – 7%

The very first Golden Minecart award for a PlayStation VR title goes to Thumper. It was a pretty decisive win for a seemingly stacked category as evidenced by the six votes separating numbers three through five.

Wayward Sky – 14%
How We Soar – 10%
Batman Arkham VR – 4% (Write-In)
Crystal Rift – 3%

It would appear that Robinson: The Journey isn’t as nausea inducing to some as it is to others because this one wasn’t even a contest. Batman Arkham VR was able to slip into the number four spot as a write-in.

Sports Bar VR – 42%
DRIVECLUB VR – 19%

Most Family Friendly (PS VR)
The Playroom VR – 63%

Batman: Arkham VR – 18%
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood – 8%
Headmaster – 7%
RIGS Mechanized Combat League – 7%
Battlezone – 5%
EVE: Valkyrie – 5%

It’s finally happened, a write-in vote won one of the categories. Thumper makes history as the first PlayStation VR title to win an award and the first write-in to take the top spot, as Game of the Year no less.

Clearly the community saw something in Thumper because this wasn’t even close. We kept saying it was only a matter of time before this happened but we never expected it to be so decisive. Well done everyone.

Amnesia: Collection – 50%
Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition – 27%
Resident Evil 4 – 10%
Layers of Fear: Masterpiece Edition – 5%
Neverending Nightmares – 4%

It was an interesting year for the horror genre on the PlayStation 4 and Amnesia: Collection took the top spot by a nearly two to one margin, beating out some of the more widely known franchises.

Best HD Remake/Remaster (PS4)
Ratchet & Clank – 64%

Day of the Tentacle Remastered – 7% (T)
Gravity Rush Remastered – 7% (T)
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition – 5% (Write-In)
Odin Sphere Leifthrasir – 4%

Not such a tough choice apparently as Insomniac’s retelling of the original Ratchet & Clank dominates the competition. Down the list, Day of the Tentacle Remastered and Gravity Rush Remastered end up tied for Third Place while The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition sneaks in as a write-in ahead of Odin Sphere Leifthrasir.

Best New IP (PS4)
Inside – 34%
No Man’s Sky – 17%
Overwatch – 16%
Firewatch – 14%
The Witness – 9%
Overcooked – 5%

The tightest race of the night sees developer Playdead and their follow up to the wonderfully creepy Limbo, titled Inside, take home the hardware. Second through Fourth ended up separated by just a handful of votes so any of those could have easily changed spots.

Most Unique Experience (PS4)
The Witness – 47%
Firewatch – 23%
Bound – 7%
Thumper – 6%
ABZÛ – 5%

In a pretty stacked category, this was a big win for The Witness. It really ended up being between that and Firewatch as the bottom three were farther down and just a few votes apart from each other.

Best Multiplayer (PS4)
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – 50%
Overwatch – 23%
Battlefield 1 – 8% (Write-In)
Titanfall 2 – 5%
Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition – 3% (Write-In) (T)
F1 2016 – 3% (Write-In) (T)
ALIENATION – 2%
Street Fighter V – 1%
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered – 1% (Write-In)
Strike Vector EX – 1%

So this one clearly wasn’t easy. While Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was able to get the win, from Third Place down things were all over the place. Battlefield 1 took Third while Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition and F1 2016 tied at Fifth, all as write-ins.

Best Continuing Support (PS4)
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – 24%
Rocket League – 20%
STAR WARS Battlefront – 8%
LEGO Dimensions – 6%
Rock Band 4 – 5%
Grand Theft Auto V – 4% (Write-In)

So with the new category we tried out this year we tried to communicate what it was but apparently didn’t do a great job as there was a huge write-in contingent for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Those votes had to be thrown out however because as we stated on the voting page and on the podcast: “To be nominated, the game had to be released in 2015 or earlier and have significant support and updates through 2016.

With that in mind, the voting was among the closest of the night with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt barely eeking out a victory over Rocket League.

Best Family Friendly Game (PS4)
Ratchet & Clank – 64%
LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens – 14%
Uno – 8%
LEGO Marvel’s Avengers – 6%

Ratchet & Clank takes home its second of the night in a category filled with some pretty good competition.

Best Action/Adventure Game (PS4)
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – 67%
Ratchet & Clank – 11%
DOOM – 10%
Dishonored 2 – 3% (T)
The Last Guardian – 3% (T)

This probably shouldn’t have been a surprise, but just based on the games nominated, the spread between First and Second is pretty huge. Either way, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End takes home its second of the night pretty easily.

The Last Guardian – 33%
Overwatch – 8%
Ratchet & Clank – 6%
DOOM – 4%
Dishonored 2 – 3% (T)
Final Fantasy XV – 3% (Write-In) (T)

This one was a nail-biter and it came right down to the wire but Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was able to pull out the victory for its 2016 leading third win of the night. Ultimately, just fourteen votes separated the two, underscoring the fact that every single vote counts.
