Fire Pro Wrestling Returns

Fire Pro Wrestling is making a comeback again and this time the game is returning to its roots for some old school action. Announced yesterday during GDC, Spike Chunsoft Co revealed they will release Fire Pro Wrestling World on PS4 and PC. The PC version will release in the summer on Steam Early Access with the PS4 version’s release date to be determined.

The game will feature the core gameplay the franchise is known for with improved graphics, updated features and 1-4 player online matchmaking. For those that remember the roster of Fire Pro Wrestling, it featured a roster full of wrestlers that often looked very “similar” to real life wrestlers which was part of the game’s charm. This will likely continue, but with a little help from the community as the game is reported to feature an in-depth character creator with over two thousand body parts and moves to build your own wrestler.

Fire Pro Wrestling World even has the endorsement of Suda51, who started his video game career with the franchise 23 years ago. Though not directly involved it is great to see that he is supporting the return of Fire Pro Wrestling in 2017.

If I’m not tweeting I’m probably just watching Buffy or Firefly for the millionth time.
