Star Wars Battlefront II Apparently Compatible with PS VR

In a recent email I received from PlayStation UK, I noticed an interesting image. It featured Star Wars Battlefront II with the footer text PlayStation VR Compatible. Before I get into what this could mean I would like to point out that Sony noticed the image and it has since changed in later emails. It also went out in a few different languages across the EU.

Sony uses two main labels to identify a game can be used with PS VR:
VR Compatible – All or most of the game is compatible with PS VR
VR Required – You need PS VR to play this game.

Some games only have a small label or text on the back signifying a small section of the game is playable in VR, like Rise of the Tomb Raider.

So what does this all mean for Star Wars Battlefront II? Is the full game playable or is it just some more missions? Based on how Sony uses “VR Compatible” in their marketing it seems more likely to be the former. Either way it looks like someone messed up and let the info slip early.

I’m sure we’ll find out much more at E3 which is just round the corner but in the meantime I’ll just leave you with this quote from PlayStation:

“there are PS4 games like Bound and Resident Evil 7 Biohazard that are PS VR compatible, which gives players the option to play in or out of VR.” – From the VR FAQ
