LONDON (15th June 2017) – London’s Southbank was taken over by gaming fans dressed in full costume today as a portal opened to another world to mark the launch of the newest expansion to video game FINAL FANTASY® XIV, Stormblood™, which will be released 20th June.

Displayed in one of London’s busiest areas, surprised commuters walked past the stunning Far East inspired artwork created by artists 3D Joe and Max as hordes of fans literally stepped into the world of Stormblood to explore the surrounding areas of Ala Mhigo.

The latest expansion to the popular online game will allow players to continue their Final Fantasy XIV journey with new characters, jobs and gameplay features. The players are able to build their own protagonist and embark on a journey that requires collaboration to face fearsome foes and dangerous dungeons in order to advance the story.

Zoher Toutanji, of Square Enix said “We could not be more excited for the upcoming launch of Stormblood and wanted to give fans the chance to visit the virtual world in real life. 3D Joe and Max are known for their amazing, interactive artwork and seemed like the natural choice for such a collaboration. The illusion was fantastic and we hope that it made the public’s journey to work that bit more interesting and really showcases the vibrant gaming culture that exists in the UK.”

Stormblood launches Tuesday 20th June on PlayStation®4, PC and Mac.
