Raw Data Gets a Release Date For PlayStation VR

Developer Survios has announced a release date of October 5 for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift and October 10 for PlayStation VR for the VR action game Raw Data. I had a chance to play it at E3 this past year and came away quite impressed.

I only saw a small part of the game where I moved around a platform with a co-op partner and fought off waves of enemies. The full experience will include a complete story mode and a deep narrative but sadly for PlayStation fans it appears that the co-op mode will be limited to HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. Either way, based on what I played, this is one to keep an eye on.

Survios Officially Announces Final Release Dates for Critically-Acclaimed VR Game Raw Data

Title Leaves Early Access On October 5 For HTC Vive and Oculus Rift,
PlayStation VR on October 10

LOS ANGELES (September 21, 2017) – After an intense Early Access development and testing, today Los Angeles-based virtual reality developer Survios announced the final release dates for their critically-acclaimed flagship game Raw Data. The title will officially exit Early Access on October 5, when the complete game will launch on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. Raw Data will then debut on PlayStation VR in North America on October 10 and in Europe on October 11.

“The most exciting part of Raw Data leaving Early Access is that our players will finally experience the complete story from its classic beginning to its heart-pounding conclusion,” said James Iliff, Survios Co-Founder and CCO. “Throughout the Early Access updates, we’ve been steadily drawing our players deeper into the complex relationship between their SyndiK8 heroes and Eden Corp’s nameless, sinister threat. Now, with Raw Data’s fully fleshed-out narrative, they’ll know who (or what) they’ve been fighting and what they’re fighting for.”

On all platforms, the game will include Raw Data’s thrilling narrative campaign—complete with new level introductions and climatic final mission—plus an enhanced graphical update. Additionally, the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift releases will include the campaign’s co-op mode as well as the Hostile Takeover Player vs. Player (PvP) content expansion.

With its action combat gameplay, intuitive controls, challenging enemies, and surreal sci-fi atmosphere, Raw Data gives players an immersive experience that has won critical acclaim from VR, gaming, and tech outlets. Playing as one of four elite SyndiK8 operatives, each equipped with unique weapons and special abilities, gamers put their wits, boldness, and endurance to the test as they become the cinematic heroes of this futuristic technothriller.

Raw Data’s Early Access period has been amazing for us, not just in terms of its success, but how it helped us grow and evolve the game to this final stage,” said Nathan Burba, Survios Co-Founder and CEO. “The community has been engaged and passionate with us since we launched in Early Access, and their feedback has played an essential role as we turnedRaw Data into the ultimate sci-fi VR action experience.”

To learn more about Raw Data’s Early Access journey, Alex Silkin and Mike McTyre, Survios Co-Founder/CTO and Design Director respectively, will share their practical lessons learned and new analytics in building the Raw Data experience at VRDC in San Francisco on September 22.
