Horizon Chase Turbo Gets a May Release Date

Horizon Chase Turbo News

Burnout Paradise remaster notwithstanding, the return of the arcade racer is upon us. Horizon Chase Turbo is set for a worldwide release date of May 15.

Priced at $19.99, the game pays homage to 16-bit arcade racers with stylish yet blocky polygonal graphics and a chiptune soundtrack. I’ve had some hand-on time with Horizon Chase Turbo over the past few years at PSX and other events and the development team at Aquiris, based in Porto Alegre, Brazil, has really taken the time to capture that classic feel with modern design and control sensibilities.

Along with a World Tour, Tournaments, and Endurance Challenges across 109 tracks, local split-screen multiplayer for up to four players is available to bring home (pun intended) the nostalgia.

Arcade racers have been a bit underserved as a genre over the past few years but they seem to be making a bit of a comeback. What do you think, good, bad, indifferent?
