Building the Arcade1Up Street Fighter II Champion Edition Cabinet

Building the Arcade1Up Street Fighter II Champion Edition Cabinet

* The Street Fighter II Champion Edition Arcade1Up cabinet was provided by Tastemakers for preview purposes.

When the first wave of Arcade1Up machines hits the shelves on October 16 many of you will probably be taking one (or several) home and preparing to put them together for the first time. I’m here to tell you, and show you, that it’s not that hard to do.

In this video I’ll be putting together the Street Fighter II Champion Edition cabinet so you can see what’s involved from start to finish. If you’ve ever built anything from Ikea, you’ll get it immediately, and even if you haven’t, you’ll be just fine.

With a box cutter, a Phillips head screwdriver, and some patience, you’ll have a brand new arcade cabinet together and ready for play in about thirty to forty minutes.

After building two cabinets I’ve learned where the (very minor) tricky spots are and I’ll show you the one area of the manual where the instruction doesn’t match up with the part. It threw me off at first but it ended up being no big deal.

In-depth videos looking at each of the cabinets will follow over the next week and a half leading up to launch so be sure to check back here on the site, on the podcast, and on our YouTube channel for more info.

The Arcade1Up cabinets retail for $299 and are available for preorder at Best Buy, Gamestop, Walmart, and more. Clicking on any of the logos below takes you directly to the online store and gives PS Nation a small percentage of the sales.
