New State of Play Coming May 9

A new State of Play update is coming!

Social Media Director Sid Shuman posted on the PlayStation Blog to let us know that Thursday, May 9 there will be a new State of Play video. Shuman stated that this will be a shorter update, roughly 10 minutes or so.

MediEvil was highlighted as the primary game to be shown off this time, though the post also mentioned that a new title will be unveiled at the same time. There will also be updates to already known upcoming PS4 games. No Mention of VR this time around, which is noteworthy only because the initial State of Play had a very heavy focus on VR.

PlayStation are also taking this moment to set expectations, as Shuman’s post specifically stated that there will be no mention of next-gen hardware this time around:

One note: Don’t expect any updates relating to our next-generation plans this time. Sorry!

While this may seem like a bit of a bummer, it’s important to keep those expectations in check. You can watch the new State of Play at all the usual spots: Twitch, Twitter, and YouTube (and I suppose Facebook, if you must go there).

Be sure to tune in Thursday, May 9 at 3:00 pm PT/6:00 pm ET so you can join the conversation sure to come from the announcements over in the Forums. Also, hit us up on Twitter using #AskPSNation!
