Persona 5 Royal Drops New E3 Trailer

E3 is in full swing everybody, and never one to miss a beat, Atlus has graced us with another trailer for Persona 5 Royal.
Check out the trailer, newly localized, below. The new trailer gives us a quick peek at the new area of the city, Kichijoji, as well as a glimpse into the motivations of the newest characters; newest Phantom Thief Kazumi Yoshizawa, and a new school counselor called Takuto Maruki who will serve as the new “Consultant” Confidant for the player character.

At one point a new voice, presumably Yoshizawa, asks the group if they plan to continue being the Phantom Thieves, remarking that she would think they would want to “steer clear of situations like this. So you’re out like the trash if you don’t show results.” This puts an interesting new twist on her character and possible motivations.

This trailer also shows off a new grappling hook type item for Joker, similar to the one he uses in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. One could almost think Nintendo knew something about this new item ahead of time….

Persona 5 Royal will be releasing October 31 in Japan, and it will come Stateside sometime in 2020 for PlayStation 4.
