E3 2019 – Bethesda Wrap-Up

Veteran studio Bethesda came out swinging this year at E3 2019. For they’re fifth year now they’ve held their own press conference to highlight their upcoming releases for 2019 and beyond. If you missed any of their announcements you can catch the full replay here or read further on for a quick summary of each game they revealed.

First up was the announcement of The The Elder Scrolls: Blades which is available now on mobile and coming to Switch in Fall of 2019. The game will feature battle arenas, custom jewelry system and a new dragon quest-line.

From Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of Skyrim, comes The Elder Scrolls: Blades – a classic dungeon crawler reimagined. The Blades, the Empire’s top agents, are forced into exile. On the run, you return to your hometown to find it destroyed. Create any character you want and discover unique weapons, armor, and abilities.

Fan favorite Fallout 76 was next in line where they laid the groundwork for some exciting upcoming content including the new Wastelanders quest-line with full dialog trees, new weapons & gear and of course a brand new FIFTY-TWO player battle royal mode aptly named Nuclear Winter.

A mythical beast, a lost generation of scouts, and the strongest brew this side of the Wasteland. Wild Appalachia introduced series of free and all-new quests, features, events, crafting systems and Survival Mode into Fallout 76, all available now!

Howdy, Neighbor!
Wastelanders is a massive free annual update to Fallout 76 that fundamentally changes the Wasteland. One year after the opening of Vault 76, other humans have returned to Appalachia. Factions of Settlers and Raiders aim to make the world their own and claim a rumored fortune. Embark on a new main quest of choice and consequence, interact with characters and their unique stories, discover the faction settlements of Crater and Foundation, and collect powerful new weapons and armor. Your choices decide their fates. Coming Fall 2019.

The Nuclear Storm Approaches!
Nuclear Winter is an all-new 52-player PvP Battle Royale mode, free for Fallout 76 players. Nukes have set the world ablaze and the battle to claim your spot as Overseer of Vault 51 has begun – will you be the last one standing or be consumed by the ring of fire? Rank up, unlock exclusive perks and build your C.A.M.P. to weather the storm in true Fallout fashion. Scavenge for weapons, supplies, and nukes to take on other players and creatures and earn unique cosmetic rewards. Sneak Peek Starting June 10, 2019.

Next up was what looked like a very cool game with an exciting premise for a storyline from Tango Gameworks. Ghostwire: Tokyo is an action-adventure story where you must figure out why people are disappearing through some paranormal investigation.

After strange disappearances hit Tokyo’s population, it’s up to you to uncover the source and purge the city of a strange, new evil. Armed with your own mysterious spectral abilities, you will face down the occult, unravel conspiracy theories and experience urban legends like never before.

The Zenimax Studios team released some new information about the expansion for ESO titled The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr. This will feature around 30 hours of new story content with future releases of the Scalebreaker dungeon release in Q3 and a new dragonhold in Q4.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr is the next Chapter of ZeniMax Online Studios’ award-winning online RPG, The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO). For the first time since 1994’s The Elder Scrolls: Arena, players and their friends will trek the arid plains as well as the skooma-producing grasslands of Elsweyr, the homeland of the cat-like khajiit race. The all-new adventure brings with it the Season of the Dragon, introducing the commanding winged beasts to ESO for the first time. In this journey, you’re no Dragonborn, so you’ll need to work with your fellow heroes and powerful allies to take the dragons down and protect Tamriel from the ever-present fire-breathing threat.

Taking a completely different angle with the presentation was an old-school original updated and revamped for today’s audience. Commander Keen will get a summer release on iOS and Android and will feature the twin kids of Billy Blaze, the son Billy & and daughter Billie.

Commander Keen is a fresh, fun reimagining of id Software’s classic Commander Keen franchise for mobile devices from ZeniMax Online Studios. The twin children of the original Billy Blaze – Billie and her brother Billy – will use wacky gadgets, quick thinking, and ingenuity to outmaneuver invading Vorticons to save Earth.

Continuing on the mobile bandwagon was the next entry in the ESO universe, The Elder Scrolls: Legends from developer Sparkypants. This free-to-play strategy card game is available to download now.

The hype train that is Rage 2 roared into the E3 station with Avalanche Studios revealing the next content drop coming later this year for the chaotic looter-shooter. The Rise of the Ghosts expansion will feature a new pilotable mech, new cheats, new vehicles, new weapons & abilities and new areas to explore.

Dive headfirst into a dystopian world devoid of society, law, and order. RAGE 2 brings together two studio powerhouses – Avalanche Studios, masters of open world insanity, and id Software, creators of the first-person shooter – to deliver a carnival of carnage where you can go anywhere, shoot anything, and explode everything.

MachineGames didn’t let us forget that it is still ok to punch Nazis. Headed to the PlayStation 4 on July 26, Wolfenstein: Youngblood is bigger than any previous Wolfenstein game to date and takes place 20 years after New Colossus. In addition, the PlayStation VR release Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot will get released in July.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a brand-new co-op adventure from award-winning studio MachineGames, developers of the critically-acclaimed Wolfenstein® II: The New Colossus, in partnership with Arkane Studios® Lyon. Play as one of BJ Blazkowicz’s twin daughters and undertake a do-or-die mission to find their missing father in 1980s Paris. In what could only be described as Groundhog Day meets first-person action adventure, Arkane Lyon introduced us to the world premiere of DEATHLOOP. The game looks to feature meticulous level design and a mindbending storyline.

From the team at Arkane Lyon comes an innovative take on first-person action. “DEATHLOOP” transports players to the lawless island of Blackreef in an eternal struggle between two extraordinary assassins. Explore stunning environments and meticulously designed levels in an immersive gameplay experience that lets you approach every situation any way you like. And of course, a Bethesda presentation wouldn’t be complete without the OG of the ever popular FPS genre making an appearance. Coming in hot, straight from Hell is DOOM Eternal. id Software released the hounds with some awesome gameplay footage and a sweet sweet collector’s edition with a wearable Doom Guy helmet!
