E3 2019 – Ubisoft Wrap-Up

E3 2019 is in full swing, and Ubisoft came ready to play. Once again bringing their best to the show, Ubisoft gave us teasers and trailers for some pretty damn good looking upcoming games. If you missed the show, feel free to check out the stream right here, skipped to about 1:10:05, to pass over the pre-show stuff. Keep reading below for a quick overview of each of the announcements. With all that out of the way, let’s get right into it.

The show started off well with a stunning performance from the new Assassin’s Creed Symphony. The Symphony will be going on tour starting June 29. Dates and locations can be found on the Assassin’s Creed Symphony website. Meanwhile, check out their performance below:

Ubisoft followed that with the official reveal of Watch_Dogs Legion. The new trailer showed off some gameplay and new story elements. One of the more prominent new features shown was the ability to recruit any Non-Player Character to your cause and they will become a playable character. Watch_Dogs Legion will be coming to PlayStation 4 March 6, 2020.

In Watch Dogs: Legion, near future London is facing its downfall…unless you do something about it. Build a resistance, fight back, and give the city back to the people. It’s time to rise up.

Where will you find your army? How about everywhere? Every Londoner has a reason to fight back. Play as literally any character – a taxi driver, an ex-spy, a graffiti artist, a fallen boxer, a well-connected lawyer, a stark raving mad grandma, anyone.

London’s fallen into a technological nightmare, but you’re sharp enough to adapt. Rally the resistance to use the city’s tech against the powers that be.

Team up with your real-life mates in co-op mode to explore dedicated online content and missions and exciting side activities, such as bareknuckle boxing, freestyle football, illegal couriering, and posting street art.

Immense eSport game Rainbow Six Siege was next to show off the start of Season 13, Operation Phantom Sight, with two new Operators: Collinn “Warden” McKinley and Nøkk. This new season has a more cinematic look and feel to it.

Operation Phantom Sight is coming our way, and it brings with it two haunting operators, Nøkk and Warden. Both of them greatly skilled specialists, they bring Rainbow Six to new heights with a steadfast and dangerous approach. Phantom Sight also brings with it a refreshing rework of Kafe Dostoyevsky.

Following that, we were treated to a new trailer for Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Jon Bernthal also came on stage to talk about the game, alongside BinBin the Dog. BinBin was very well-behaved and deserved more applause. Afterwards, there was another trailer and Community Developer Laura Cordrey came onstage to talk about Delta Company, a new community program designed to create a way for the Ghost Recon Breakpoint community to communicate with the developers more easily.

Here’s that trailer, followed by everything else, plus more rolled into one video:

Ghost Recon Breakpoint will release on October 4, 2019, but the Beta will begin one moth earlier, on Sept 5.

I’m sure this next announcement shocked a lot of folks, myself included, for a few reasons. Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad is a new tactical squad shooter for mobile devices. Taking the most iconic characters from other Tom Clancy games, Sam Fisher, Caveira, Nomad, Montagne, and Megan (of the Division) join forces to take on the worst criminals across the Clancyverse (is that a term?).

Collect and upgrade all your favorite characters from Rainbow Six®, Ghost Recon®, The Division®, Splinter Cell® and more on mobile devices.

Command your best squads in stunning and dynamic 5 vs 5 BATTLES.

Experience thrilling action in CAMPAIGN mode, with a unique Tom Clancy’s storyline.

Challenge other squads in epic PLAYER vs PLAYER and GUILD vs GUILD battles.

Celebrating 10 years of Just Dance(!) with a very heartfelt trailer full of moments shared by the Just Dance Community, Ubisoft unveiled Just Dance 2020! It wouldn’t be Ubisoft without a dance show onstage!

For Honor got a new limited time mode: Shadows of the Hitokiri, along with a new samurai warrior, Sakura.

For the first time in what seems longer than it truly is, a new Rainbow Six game was announced: Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Quarantine. Inspired by the limited time event Operation Outbreak in Rainbow Six Siege, Quarantine will be a 3-player, tactical co-op shooter set years in the future.

Developed by a new dedicated team at Ubisoft Montreal, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® Quarantine is set several years in the future of the Rainbow Six Universe. The Rainbow operators will face off against a highly lethal new breed of mutated alien parasite infecting human hosts and their surroundings.

“We set out to create a radically re-designed co-op experience built on the foundations of one of the best shooters of this generation. What Siege is to the PVP shooter genre, we want Quarantine to be to co-op.” said Bio Jade Adam-Granger, Lead Game Designer.

Players can prepare to launch into tense, chaotic and totally unpredictable missions as they will risk everything with their squad, every time they step into Quarantine.

Here’s the teaser trailer:

Terry Spier, Creative Director at Red Storm Entertainment took the stage next to talk about the upcoming changes and additions coming to Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. He gave some details on what to expect in Episode 2, including new locations and a new Raid, which will run through the rest of this year. Finally, Spier gave a tease of Episode 3 and Ubisoft’s plans for the future of The Division 2.

Finally, to close the show, Yves Guillemot, well known and, judging by that applause, beloved CEO of Ubisoft Entertainment came out to thank all the teams for their work and to thank the fans for their love of Ubisoft games. Guillemot also introduced Marc-Alexis Cotte, senior producer at Ubisoft Quebec, who announced the final new game of the day, Gods and Monsters. This one looks like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, stripped of any historical aspects, in a more artful, whimsical graphic style. As the name suggests, this game is more about Gods and monsters than wars and history.
