Anthem Cataclysm Event Finally Arrives

Anthem, BioWare and EA’s biggest new live-service game to come out this year, has had an incredibly difficult start this year. Even so, BioWare has remained diligent in avoiding catastrophe and right their new flagship. Numerous updates over the months following release have seen balance changes, story and content updates, and more; the usual for any live-service game, but Anthem has been particularly under the microscope since launch.

Now, nearly six months after release, Anthem’s most highly anticipated feature, the Cataclysm, touted as a huge storm seen across all servers for all players which could irrevocably change the game’s landscape, has finally arrived. The Cataclysm event arrives in a new update with little to no fanfare that offers new Endgame story missions, modifiers, a new Seasonal store with its own seasonal currency, and leaderboards.

Alongside this new Cataclysm, this update brings with it new story missions available to all players who completed the “Incursion” mainline mission, changes to the Alliance System, Inversions, changes to how Luck works, and a whole suite of new weapons and balancing, new gear, and of course tons of the usual bug and UI fixes. If you have the time, feel free to check out the many, many, MANY, changes in the patch notes pulled from the Anthem website here.

Are you ready to dive in to Anthem’s Cataclysm? Are you even still playing Anthem at this point? Let’s talk about this and more in the PS Nation Forums, on Facebook, and on Twitter using #AskPSNation.
