Boxing Is Set to Make a Return to Consoles With eSports Boxing Club

Fight Night Champion was released by EA Sports on the previous generation of consoles in March of 2011. As it stands now, that was the last boxing game featuring licensed fighters to be made. Well, that is in the process of changing, as Steel City Interactive and Ten24 are developing eSports Boxing Club for consoles and PC.

Being touted as “an in-depth action-RPG based on the journey of a fighter”, eSports Boxing Club promises to feature current and former world champions from all over the world. In addition, Steel City Interactive has partnered with the World Boxing Council (WBC) as the governing entity, and Ring Magazine and the IBF are also heavily involved.

Your journey will include creating your fighter, accepting or rejecting contracts, deciding which fights to take, and building your fighter’s attributes. In addition, you will be in charge of hiring your staff of trainer, cut-man, etc. The game will also feature a full soundtrack featuring various artists.

We don’t know much more yet in regards to on which generation of consoles eSports Boxing Club will release, or when. We will try to keep you posted. In the meantime, check out the teaser trailer below.
