EA Lays Out Star Wars: Squadron’s Support Plans

In a blog entry posted today, EA has began to reveal its plans for Star Wars: Squadrons, post-launch. Emphasizing that this game will not involve microtransactions, they go into detail about what they are calling the “core pillars of the game’s online experience”, which will be Challenges, Operations, and your Level.

As you play through said pillars, you earn Glory (a virtual currency) to unlock cosmetics, which cannot be purchased, only earned through playing. Also gained through gameplay is Requisition, which will help you unlock additional ship components.

It seems like EA has learned some lessons from the fiasco that came with the launch of Star Wars: Battlefront II. Star Wars: Squadrons is set for launch on October 2, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Steam, and the Epic Game Store on October 2, for $39.99. You can preorder for PS4 digitally, or on Blu-ray at Best Buy (our affiliate link) here.
