Missing features returned to PSX From PSN Last Updated: 2004-02-07
A sigh of relief can be had by the many people who purchased Sony's super-console, the PSX, with nothing but a promise to return the features cut in order to achieve the release date. Sony has announced that an update, which will return many of the planned features, is now available via the broadband network connection, or CD-ROM for those without broadband.
Some of the returned features include:
- Increasing the recording speed (from the hard drive) to a mind-blowing 24x from the basic 4x
- The ability to display TIFF, and JPEG images from Sony Memory Stick Media
- The MP3 decoder
The next update, planned for March, promises to remedy the last few outstanding features, such as DVD+R support.
