Sony teases…well, something about PocketStation

Anyone remember the PocketStation? Huh? Well, if you do, then get ready to be excited. If you don’t, well…um…read below and I will give you a brief history of it.

Way back on January 23, 1999 Sony launched the PocketStation, a full month after the original ship date. The PocketStation was a strange piece of equipment, combining a Memory Card and a mini personal digital assistant device into one item. To use the Memory Card feature of PocketStation, one would have to plug it in via the memory card slot on the PlayStation. When games were released there would be extra content on the disk that would enhance the main game with features for the PocketStation. The system peripheral even had a built-in infrared data interface that would allow the device to transfer data between itself and another PocketStation.

There you go, now you know what the PocketStation was. So today on the Japanese PlayStation website, Sony released a video that teases something about the PocketStation and says that something will be revealed on November 5th that “will shake the entire gaming industry”. Check out the teaser video below.
