Amy Hennig Leaves Naughty Dog

Uncharted 3 (B)

The creative director and writer of the Uncharted franchise, Amy Hennig, has left Naughty Dog. IGN broke the news late last night and were given confirmation from Sony about Amy Hennig’s departure from the studio. According to IGN’s sources her departure from the studio may have been due to some turmoil within the studio and its other major players. Though that part of this story can live in the rumor mill until more information comes forward.

In the statement released to IGN, a Sony representative said:

“We can confirm that Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog. Amy has made significant contributions to the game industry and we appreciate all she has done for Naughty Dog. The development timeline of Uncharted will not be impacted.”

Amy Hennig joined Naughty Dog 10 years ago, working on the Jak and Daxter franchise and then moving on to become the lead writer and creative director for all three Uncharted games. We will update this post as more news becomes available.

Just a nerd from the Windy City. I’m actually really bad at describing myself because I get all self-critical and self-conscious. Follow me on Twitter, @The1stMJC, to see my borderline insane rants on tv shows and other non important subjects. If I’m not tweeting I’m probably just watching Buffy or Firefly for the millionth time.
