E3 2015: Futuridium VR Accompanying Project Morpheus Launch

We don’t know what name Project Morpheus will eventually be released under, but we’ve already received word on one of its launch games. Futuridium VR by MixedBag Games will be out when Sony’s VR headset arrives some time in the first half of 2016. Running natively at 120 frames per second with reprojection on top, Futuridium VR is aiming to be very smooth, very low latency.

If the name looks familiar, Futuridium EP Deluxe, a stylish space shooter of sorts (Chazz reviewed it here), is currently free as part of PlayStation Plus. Indeed, the current, very early build of Futuridium VR being shown at E3 is very much inspired by EP Deluxe, though the final version will be more similar to something like Nintendo’s Starfox.

Good news for people who are picking up Futuridium EP Deluxe as part of PS+ this month, Futuridium VR will be free as well in the form of a compatibility patch. Glimpse some early gameplay below and hopefully we’ll hear more details on this game from the show floor soon.

A student of games, I play a bit of everything because I like to see what’s out there. Nothing better than first hand experience when it comes to knowing about games. Current game obsession: Anything MOBA (Paragon, Battleborn, Heroes of the Storm), except, ironically, the most popular ones, LoL and DOTA2.
