Star Wars is Flying Back to Consoles with Star Wars: Squadrons

A true dogfighting Star Wars game is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC this fall, and if it delivers, it should be a an experience that’s been sorely missed on consoles, and PC for that matter.

True, there has been space combat in the Battlefront games for more than a decade, but we haven’t really seen a space-combat-only Star Wars game in a long time.

When it launches on October 2, 2020, Star Wars: Squadrons will include a single-player campaign that takes place immediately after the battle of Endor. But 5v5 space dogfights will allow you to combat other players online.

For those of you who experienced the PSVR Rogue One mission, take heart and joy in the announcement that Squadrons will support VR. I played that Rogue One mission more than some full VR games, wishing every day for a full version of that experience, so this announcement was cause for celebration.

Expect more details in the next couple of months, and check out the trailer below.
